City Art Stars Schools Programme

Our schools programme is inspired by City Art Centre exhibitions and our Edinburgh museum collections. We facilitate class visits, run live digital workshops and develop free resources for schools.  If you would like your primary class or secondary class to have the opportunity to take part in our programme, please contact Margaret Findlay via margaret.findlay@edinburgh.gov.uk to discuss eligibility.

Resources for teachers and families

We have created a variety of art activity worksheets and step-by-step videos inspired by our collections and current exhibitions for children, families and teachers:

Videos

Cityscape Artworks - Jock McFadyen inspired art workshop

Resources for Uniformed Groups - Achieving Artist or Painting Badges

We are delighted to support Uniformed Groups with our 3 short videos to help groups complete some of their art-themed badges at home. You can get your artist or painting badge using a popular City Art Centre painting as inspiration and Harvard University's See, Think, Wonder routine. This resource will help Uniformed Groups look at, talk about and appreciate art. Watch all three videos and try some of the activities. Good luck.
