10.30am - 3.30pm
This workshop will take inspiration from details in our Shifting Vistas exhibition. Put down your phones, step away from computers, TVs, and tablets. Take a break from the hustle and bustle everyday life in this slow hand stitching workshop. Slow hand stitching is all about stitching with intention and being absorbed in the moment. The only skill you need for this workshop is to be able to thread a needle and sew.In this workshop we will use the simple and ancient embroidery method of Kantha Stitching. Using only straight running stitches this workshop is a good introduction for the embroidery newbie.
We will begin our day exploring embroidery and have an opportunity to practice some stitches before moving onto your folksy art embroidery. Everything you need will be waiting for you on the day, and there will be a cash pop up shop with a variety of designs made up in packs with everything you would need to complete another small project if you would like to continue with embroidery at home.
This event is now sold out.
