On the eve of the major Peter Howson retrospective opening, City Art Centre is delighted to launch a new, exclusive film commissioned to explore the key moments of the artist's development. Filmmakers Susannah Cavill and her daughter Rose visited Peter's studio in Glasgow to offer viewers an in-depth look into his creative process, works and inspirations that have shaped his career and the major themes explored in his work.

The film not only offers a unique opportunity to witness the artist's creative process, but to explore the impact of autism on Peter's life as an artist. As a renowned artist, Howson has taken his experiences and used them to create powerful and meaningful works of art that express the reality of his condition and provide a unique insight into the human experience. The film is a powerful and moving exploration of the human psyche, depicting the struggles, hopes and fears that exist within us all. Howson speaks of the importance of being able to confront difficult experiences, the courage it takes to explore them, and how ultimately it can lead to personal growth and greater understanding of oneself and the world.
