For people of Caribbean heritage, Black people and people of colour; art event in association with the ‘Windrush Legacy’ exhibition
Bring along a personal item and join Scottish Jamaican artist Kezia Lewis for a colourful paper collage art workshop exploring place, belonging, family and heritage where you will paint, draw, cut and piece together your own artwork to take home.
To get the most out of this workshop we encourage you to visit the 'Windrush Legacy' exhibition at the Museum of Edinburgh prior to attending this workshop as Kezia invites you to explore what home means to you. Art materials will be provided alongside a selection of imagery and objects for your artwork inspiration.
Please also bring at least one personal item to draw inspiration from, for example it can be a photograph of a person or place, an object, a flower/foliage, a food item, a piece of fabric or clothing that sparks a memory of home. This workshop is open to those who would like to delve into their creative side, from beginners in art, to those who would like to expand their artistic style.
