10.30am - 3.30pm
Nature collages inspired by Lauriston Castle's gardens and flowers in art.
Taking inspiration from Mary Delany, the remarkable 18th century paper-cut artist and her accurate and fascinating botanical collages of plants, spend a day creating collaged images of plant and flower forms and exploring ways in which we can capture images of nature through mixed media, including drawn details, inks, paints, paper layers and text. In the morning we will make a traditional paper representation of a flower or plant form on a dark background, then in the afternoon move to a more personal and free interpretation working in a more experimental way. With artist Tessa Asquith-Lamb.
