Ron O’Donnell expands on his photographic archive and discusses images not included in the exhibition by looking at unusual corners of the city captured many years ago, remembering some fascinating Edinburgh institutions such as the breweries, Powderhall Dog Racing and Hoffman’s Circus to name but a few.

O’Donnell is an artist and lecturer in photography at Edinburgh Napier University. His work has been displayed in exhibitions worldwide, including the seminal show ‘The Vigorous Imagination’ at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. He is the recipient of a Leverhulme Trust Research grant for photography and his work has been collected by museums worldwide and acquired for the nation, including the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh, Victoria and Albert Museum, London and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow.
