Take a trip down memory lane with us with Lyn Stevens, Curator at Museum of Childhood, reminiscing about the books you may have read as a child, and still possibly read to your own children or grandchildren. Books have eternal appeal and pass through the generations. This talk will also link to our current exhibition at Museum of Edinburgh ‘Nurture Through Nature with Children’s Books’ looking at how stories and the exploration of nature come together in our childhood experiences. Flowers, trees, animals, insects and birds feature heavily in children’s books, set in both the real world and imaginary worlds. We promise you will recognise some old favourites.
Lyn Stevens is curator at Museum of Childhood and specialises in our historical book collection.
Why not make a day of it at Lauriston and have some lunch at Mimi’s café on-site after your lecture experience?
