2pm - 3.30pm
The city of Edinburgh is home to a vibrant tapestry of faiths and religious practices. Though the coexistence of religions in the city has not always been harmonious, the coming together of people of all faiths to celebrate diversity and promote peace is of increasing importance to religious communities today. This year the Edinburgh Interfaith Association celebrated its thirty-fifth anniversary, and we are delighted to welcome its Executive Director, Iain Stewart, to chair this panel discussion on Interfaith activity in Edinburgh.
Iain will be joined by guests including Nasim Azad, a board member of the Muslim Council of Scotland, Edinburgh Interfaith Association and Beyond The Veil, Edinburgh, Caleb Gilleland, a practising Baha’i who is currently studying for a PhD in Christian-Muslim relations at New College, University of Edinburgh, and Rev Fiona Bennett, Minister at Augustine United Church.
