Robert Louis Stevenson the author is famous worldwide, but RLS the letter writer is less well known. Yet many of his letters, nearly 3,000 of which survive, are literary gems and paint pictures as fresh as the day they were written. Enjoy a selection of them as members and friends of the RLS Club take you on a journey through Stevenson’s rich and varied life, from Edinburgh to France, America and the South Seas.
