A costumed event to celebrate the 105th Anniversary of the Representation of the People Act being passed in June 1918 in which some women were given the vote. It is 1911 and members of the household debate the issues involved in the various campaigns for Votes for Women. Should women be treated equally to men or is their place in the home – or indeed the kitchen? Is increased militancy the way forward? Everybody has an opinion on this matter. You are invited to listen in to their lively “conversations.” Take a tour with Edinburgh Living History and step back in time.
