A painted panel workshop inspired by the exhibition ‘National Treasure: The Scottish Modern Arts Association’
Join artist Tessa Asquith-Lamb for this two-part live stream workshop inspired by the landscape artists' tricks and techniques to create distance, texture and light. In the first video Tessa will explore selected landscape paintings from the exhibition including works by Josephine Haswell Miller, William McTaggart and William York MacGregor looking at how these very different works use paint to describe landscape elements and mood.
In the second video inspired by Josephine Haswell Miller's The House on the Canal and William York MacGregor’s Melrose in particular we will experiment to create a sense of mystery and layering within a landscape through the use of stylised tree forms to create a painted panel.
